On January 9, 2009, Task Force TArGET (Tanodbayan against Government Employees involved in Trafficking) was created by Hon. Ombudsman Ma. Merceditas N. Gutierrez. The said task force aims to investigate irregular activities, such as, but not limited to, the facilitation and human smuggling in airports and ports committed by the government officials and employees.

Environmental Ombudsman. A task force to environmental concerns headed by the Environmental Ombudsman, seeks to monitor and promote compliance of national and local government units to environmental laws. It is also responsible for the filing of necessary complaints against public officials and employees who violate laws pertaining to the environment.
